Hank - It has been done, but wasn’t easy.

Is it just a case of chiselling out the innards? Did it have the desired performance and sound improvements? Any negatives? (Aside from legality)

K9F a member that used to be on here. Drilled it out I believe. That’s as far as the info I know goes.
There wasn’t any drawbacks that I’m aware of.
It isn’t a mod for me though, although there would be some performance gain it also has the emissions effects. Outweighing far more than anything else.
I’m happy keeping mine, but upgrading the rest helps a lot anyway. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Hank, I've already smashed out the innards of mine, there is a different note to the exhaust but not worth the effort at all to be honest. it is just a case of hammer and chisel.

I'm still on the fence with the air box mod and removing the water separator Shocked theres a few plus and negative points and while the mod doest make that much of a difference I think i will leave mine alone for now

Have you considered the Bowler exhaust. My 90's running a bowler straight through exhaust with cat still in place, stage 2 190 remap, big intercooler airbox mod etc. Makes a nice whoosh sound during gear changes, pulls like a train, as you would expect. Sounds good when pulling but almost sounds standard on a light throttle. It can drone a bit around 2000rpm with a heavy right foot. FFRR TDV8 sold

you don't need to decat, my 2.4 makes the noise with just the centre silencer replaced with a straight pipe. Its a very addictive noise Smile

I've ordered decat, mid silencer delete and rear silencer delete Shocked

Unfortunately I am working away until Christmas but will report back with a video/sound update when I'm home Laughing

May need to put one of the silencers back in?

Will you adapt your fuel map? The straight through exhaust will result in a lot less back pressure and this might cause turbo overspool. I just remember Pete Bell mentioning this in a thread about exhausts in td4s.
