Ditto - use it with a piece of cut down waffle board on soft ground. Also drift the pin out & remove the U shape on the ram & replace with a large washer to jack up the D4. |

While it is expensive (ouch...) I think that ARB hydraulic jack looks the bees knees. Hi-lift works, yes, but it can be finicky. Doesn't like the slightest bit of dirt and operating it can be sketchy.
I'll be getting one of the ARB ones when they release it and get rid of my hi-lift. Should be far easier to operate. |

I dont have any proper jacking points
I.e. i have a normal bumper, sills and crossmember I do quite a bit of offroading and have a hi-lift Jack and also waffle boards I wus thinking of using the waffles for a base on soft stoney ground My Q is Where would the best place be to jack mine up front and back??..some where, where its not going to damage anything Mt Arran |

You have got proper jacking points, front and rear. Underneath the front bumper are two inset tubes with rubber bungs in them, and in the rear crossmember are also two inset tubes. You can buy an adapter for your hi-lift that will enable you to use them. Darren

You have to be a bit careful with the Merc jacks as they're quite a lot taller than the LR equivalent. If you get a flat tyre on the off-side, if can be a challenge to get the taller jack underneath the thicker axle casing, particularly if you need to use a spreader board of some description. I used my new Hi Lift I had today for the first time, funny enough not for my 90 though.
It did an excellent job of lifting out some fence posts set into the ground. (Not concreted.) Bolted a piece of 75x75mm timber vertically to each one with some long m10 tested coach bolts 2x and the jack pulled them straight up and out with ease. TMax 4ft jack for me
 Click image to enlarge Half the price of the high lift and after 4 years of living on the roof rack it still works fine. Great bit of kit that I've used for everything from changing the wheel off road to lining up the front skid plate while trying to fit it 
I originally bought the 4ft because it fits behind the seats perfectly, but it takes up less room and looks far cooler outside

Ex TD5 Disco bottle jack now installed also t bar jack and a Hi-Lift but not for jacking landy but splitting logs and ex sprinter 3.5 bottle jack for service work
