This was during an International tour so it's brought International publicity and condemnation.

I believe it is mostly down to money.

There is no such thing as an amateur athlete or sportsman now at the top. We shovel money at these people and raise them up to super idol levels and they become desperate to out perform, go faster, get higher, go further at what ever cost it takes - sometimes, I believe at the cost of their health and well being.

The average weekly wage for a Premier League player has risen above £50,000 for the first time, says a new study.

Sportingintelligence's Global Sports Salaries Survey says the average annual wage in England's top flight is £2,642,508 - or £50,817 per week.

Sometimes I despair at the standard of comments made on various social media sites.

Someone has complete brake failure and some of the advice was

Quote:

Use your gears and hand brake 👍🏻,I’ve traveled 80 miles like it before.
I burst a piston in the calliper and lost all my fluid

and

just drive home engine braking

Response

Quote:

That would be the plan,

In my opinion people giving that standard of advice need their driving licence taken off them. Anybody prepared to take that sort of advice deserves a prison sentence!

How many innocent people need to be killed before some people realise that willing/knowingly driving unsafe vehicles on the public highway is a prison sentence waiting to happen.

The police and insurance companies obviously do not look at social media in the event of major fatalities on the road. {Ironic mode off}

National Rail and train operating company's

For the last couple of months I have been planning to take S.H.M.B.O. away to Devon for a break in mid May to celebrate a special anniversary, As it is nearly 400 miles I planned to use the train and this is were all the planning fell apart, the National rail web site could not confirm that any trains would be running to or from Plymouth and advised users to make a booking? . Enquiries at local station revealed that is was not possible as no confirmed train times until last Wednesday so yesterday went to station to book seats only to find out that all the seats on trains have been taken but I can pay and take a chance of getting a seat, so the trip is off and I have had to cancel Hotel booking, Hire car booking and the flowers and card.

To say I'm not very happy at the moment is an understatement. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

eBay - sharks and fishes
Has ebay had its day? When the number of sharks in the sea outweighs the number of fishes it is hard to see how it can continue. I'm an infrequent user, but have recently sold an Islabike my son has outgrown - a million questions and no bids, eventually sold off site. My Golf is currently for sale and oh my life, what a pain in the bum. I've listed the history, every service date / mileage etc, normal pics etc and the number of questions from people using broken english offering £2.50 has been extraordinary. A Welsh car trader bid on it and then wanted to buy it outside of ebay and got Censored when I said no. I've had to cancel his bid and block him as a seller. Where have all the nice people gone? Big Cry

A note in the post office beckons.......

OH FFS
The BBC has just wasted 15 mins of my rapidly declining life to tell me that a married woman has just had her third child.
So what? Rolling Eyes

Couldn't agree more. There's dozens of people camped out on the pavement to see it!

Adjustable motorway signage that is wrong.

Firstly a sign showing a reduced speed limit with an overhead advisory of "Debris in Road" I didn't see the debris in the road before the overhead signage had reverted to National limit.

Secondly (about a mile later) a lane closure sign and lots of red arrows pointing from lane 1 into lane 2 only for everyone to move over for several hundred yards past nothing and then the sign that said the lane was open. People start to move back to lane 1 to go round the bend and get confronted with a lorry half in lane 1.

Why can't they get these right.

My favourite to hate in this regard is the speed restrictions on the M4 as you approach the M25 which in the middle of the day try to slow everything which is moving nice and freely down to 50mph and in the rush hours are completely aspirational. Turn them off when not needed Censored . It's no surprise people pay no attention half the time. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper.

So 2 people are supposedly getting married this weekend. So what how many couples get married every week?

How many parents can not make it to a wedding for whatever reason?

How much is this wedding costing the British taxpayer?

It is not news that a couple are getting married so will BBC news etc actually find some real interesting news rather then a couple of rich people are getting married!

As there are clearly a lot of people in this country and elsewhere that would disagree, this is the equivalent of shouting at the moon Laughing Darren
