I've got a leaking manifold to turbo gasket again so it all needs to come apart tomorrow anyway .. one less thing to put back on!

Did you just swap it out with an original part or are there any upgrade gaskets out there?

I had the turbo and manifold off completely last time and had the faces skimmed and then replaced with original gaskets. I had to replace the manifold also as it had a crack. It’s been okay since. I’ve used Nak gaskets in the past that have lasted a while but didn’t compensate for the warped faces. 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X

Thanks - managed to find your other posts after I posted the above - I'll have to get it taken apart and see if I can diagnose the root cause. Your posts have pointed me in the right direction Thumbs Up

Germany 2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Keswick Green
I recognized a strange noise from the engine bay this week. I'm going to check both heat shields:

JPY500060 - heat shield turbo charger (engine)
KRO500330 - heat shield crankshaft position sensor (gearbox)

I hope to fix it without new parts.

Thanks,
Bernd

I should have kept quiet .. checked the turbo last week and found one stud has snapped, one is missing so the turbo is held on with the remaining one. Something to do after I've changed my knackered starter motor Big Cry 2008 Defender 110 XS SW - M57N2 / 6HP28X
