Its deciding what speakers to buy, Halfords have the square root of all in now for ICE. I am planning on running the wires for the rear speaker in side, rather than along the chassis. My bits that I have bought, will have to wait until shut down now. I have had the bits for months! Same happens to me, I seem to accumulate bits for a while then have to summon the energy to do loads of jobs at once. As for the speakers, it's always cheaper to buy online than in halfords. Ray My build thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic17615.html |

I trial fitted one of the rear speaker pods, looks like its a job for another day I think. Due to the weather and I need speakers. but they really do make a nice difference to the back end. ( I might keep them off until I get the rear interior trims)
I am hoping to make a start with the parts that everyones been waiting for me to put on, next week when I break up. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

well today I made a start on the jobs, I started with two major things, The heater selector and front demister leavers, They were getting very stiff to move about. So I removed the unit and gave it a good spray down and Greece.
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Then I popped the bonnet and gave the wires a good spray down on the heater unit itself which really did seem to free the system up even better! While I was at it, I gave the steering box adjuster screw, a right old spray down. The my dad helped me slacken off the alen key off the nut. He gave it a 3 turns while I moved the steering, and it wound in nicely, so after 4 turns the steering massive steering play I had, is now like my dads defender. Also the steering wheel looks like its returned to the centre as it was sitting off to the right before we adjusted it. My dad recons it could have wound its self into place, which makes sense due to the play I had, Changing lanes at 50 to 60 was a little tricky at times, and it could unsettle easy too. Revered it out and back into the drive away and its much, much more precise now. So another job done!
