Popped to a local town yesterday well known for its wealth, (and bling), and on returning to the Def I thought I heard an avalanche. After ducking and realising it wasn't, I looked around for the 'rolling thunder', but it wasn't there either. Then I noticed this subtle looking beast (in white with lashings of Carbon Fibre of course) casually drift past. It has a sound like no other....
A few stats: 300.000€ 6.0l Bi-Turbo Top Speed 200mph+ Oh, and the small matter of 850bhp (Yup, that's right, Eight-Fiddy Horses)!!!! If I ever do the LS3 upgrade, this is what I want it to sound like. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

That cobra thing goes to prove the adage that power is nothing without control. Lairy beastie. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Pretty sure I saw one last time I was there. There were lots of Defenders too but by far and away the most popular were Range Rovers. It seemed like every third car was a blacked out RR. |

There are actually loads of Defenders in the region. I reckon I could win a 'how many Defs did you see today' thread, as long as it didn't include dealers or HM Forces!! But most are bought for the image, (i.e. they go well with the nice chalet), so the Defender to Wave quotient is very low
And you're right, ten mins from home (actually St Gervais, Cham is where I work) to Megeve and it all changes. Lots of road biased 4x4s. And lots of low-to-the-ground stuff as well. Megeve is a popular stop for lots of rallies and concours, classic or club. You're more likely to see a convoy of thirty Porsches than a tractor over t'other side of t'hill. But (aurally speaking ) the 850 was something else. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

I feel a road trip coming on! My roller painted 90 loves mixing it up in Wilmslow, it sounds similar!

Grenadier.
You are right. Population to Defenders ratio I reckon Megève would win 'how many Defs..' Top Trumps. Greeni. Wilmslow can be quite a sight car wise but its a very different style. More about flash footballer/Wag motors. Megève is a different vibe. Especially during ski season. I think it must be the combination of old money (lots of it) and Parisian style. Pretty much every car there is extremely expensive and black. |
