I'd start by checking / replacing the uj's (all 4 of then),and then the spline end caps for the driveshafts, go for the hD ones with the octagonal screw on caps (COPPERGREASE!!)

It had a new propshaft a while back but i'm not sure if everything was replaced 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

Rear radius arm bushes, front radius arm bushes [ torque steer when excessive wear] lastly A frame bushes, the ball joint is usually a big clunk when worn ,

Mine was rear diff play which lead to eating drive flanges so definitely worth tracking down cause.

+1 for the ball joint on the A frame, I replaced mine a couple of weeks ago, it did not feel badly worn when levered with a big bar, only about 1mm of play but a new Lemforder OE spec ball joint has completely transformed the feel of the whole drive train. Probably the most effective £30 I have ever spent on a Land Rover. |
