Drivetrain slop checklist?
Before i start messing around, is there a check list that I can go through for drive-train slop?

It's not too bad at the moment but i'd rather get ontop of it now. 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

I'd start by checking / replacing the uj's (all 4 of then),and then the spline end caps for the driveshafts, go for the hD ones with the octagonal screw on caps (COPPERGREASE!!)

Rear radius arm bushes, front radius arm bushes [ torque steer when excessive wear] lastly A frame bushes, the ball joint is usually a big clunk when worn , Cool

Mine was rear diff play which lead to eating drive flanges so definitely worth tracking down cause.

+1 for the ball joint on the A frame, I replaced mine a couple of weeks ago, it did not feel badly worn when levered with a big bar, only about 1mm of play but a new Lemforder OE spec ball joint has completely transformed the feel of the whole drive train. Probably the most effective £30 I have ever spent on a Land Rover.
