I'm thinking of doing so too. They also sell the demister vents that mudstuff do - but somewhat cheaper.

my td5 is either off or full blast and I'm used to it and quite like it! if too hot i just open a window! if i want variable luxury I just use the disco 3 lol, 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold)

I concur, if it's cold stick the heater on, if you get warm take of your jacket, then your jumper then resort to flaps or window
Variable heating control on a defender is in my opinion not in tradition with the spirit of the vehicle haha  |

There's a rheostat switch on the older Rover cars as well; my P4 nearly caught fire after I found a "sweet spot" in its adjustment of the control that had the wire-wound track glowing cherry red after a few miles. Because you can reach under the dash on a P4, I was able to feel how hot the potentiometer had got - I still bear the scar on my left hand! I have a variable heating control on my TDi; heat output is great in the summer, but weakens as the winter approaches.  Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads. |

Closing off his thread, I did fit the Landrezieger heater kit and it's fantastic! Works really well with 100% proportional control over the fan. It makes it so much easier to get comfortable.
It's Easy to fit, ask for English instructions. The only thing I found was the box that mounts on the heater box fouls the bonnet, you need to mount it as low as possible, and on rhd cars the wires are tricky to get to down the side of the heater. It's been reliable except I blew the rheostat accidentally when fitting it to a metal dash pod replacement. A replacement was sent from Holland very quickly. It's a great modification. Have to add the best thing i have done to the heating system in Miffy is to give it a darned good service. Big flush, new thermostat (although I do not think that has made much difference) and replacement of the foam donut that connects the intake plenum to the heater motor... Darned thing sounds like a jet engine from outside now, no more engine related smells. An all round healthier system.
The mod though would give a little more control for the sake of the wife's comfort...  |

They definitely ship to the UK. I've ordered both their headlight loom and the heater control and they come pretty quickly via DHL. It's nice kit, well put together. The heater control I ordered about a month/6 weeks ago. It was showing as out of stock but I emailed Martin and he made one up and shipped it. Fitted it last weekend, and as Gareth says, a great mod. I was doing a bigger job - fitting a rebuilt heater box, with an allisport matrix - but I think if I'd just been fitting the Landreiziger kit it would only have been a couple of hours work tops. (If you're using Google Chrome, the translate button, top right of the URL bar, is pretty handy.) Donald 1994 Defender 300Tdi 110 SW - owned since 2002 - 230k miles and going strong (The 'rolling restoration' or tinkering thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic58538.html ) 2000 Range Rover P38 4.0L V8 in the past.. RR classic - fitted with 200Tdi 1984 RR classic - V8 with ZF auto box 1993 Discovery 300Tdi not to mention the minis and the Type 2 VW camper... |

I’ll have to have another look it just did not seam to have an option for uk and non of it was in English so I got a bit frustrated with it

I fitted this mod a couple of years ago
Works really well and actually seems to increase the max output from the fan Its great to have the variable control for different fan output The only fault with mine is that the small lever that takes the original knob is very thin and mine snapped where the screw holds the knob on I soldered it back together and now its good and strong - may be worth beefing it up during the initial install |
