Under the drivers seat (or possibly your passenger seat, opposite side to the battery), hidden inside the bundle of wires under there is a single fuse. I think this is the fuse for the engine management.

After reconnecting the battery, did you press the 'lock' button on the fob 5+ times in order to re-sync it to the 10as unit?
The vehicle will not start if this is not done as the immobiliser is still activated... Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. Douglas Adams 2012 2.2 Puma |

After checking the above my first steps would be to check the cabling and seating of all the connectors between the various parts: ECU, 10AS, fuses, under seat fuses, instrument binnacle etc.
Maybe some of that is redundant, but hey, at least you get a good look see ? But hopefully someone will chime in with more knowledge will know exactly what all that points at... You could read the messages, in which case it sounds like a dead ECU caused by some dodgy voltage where it shouldn't be, but one thing I've learned is that when a system is in an erroneous state, its messages can be just as erroneous. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

Hello,
I’m new to the forum but have had starting issues like yours for a long time and have never got to the bottom of it, as it has been intermittent. Now I have all the codes listed above and it will not start! If anyone can shed some light on the situation I would be very pleased. |

I’ve got all of these faults coming up on my 2011 defender and it’s periodically cutting out. Has anyone come up with a solution to it? Seems like a common fault

I'd start with the above, check all fuses and then the wiring loom visually for any areas where it can rub on other components (e.g. back of engine near lifting eye). Now: 2010 2.4 TDCi 110 Utility Wagon
Then: 2004 2.5 TD5 90 Hard Top (X-Tech Edition) |

I have the U0100-87 code. Would you mind telling me where the fuses are to check?
