Better to be without it, but still quite bad Sad

Is not a good thing have a failed part specially in the brake system
In my case when the pump failed dead quite fast (one day or less)

They give you an alternative if the pump dead tomorrow or in one week more?

Cheers Eduardo

Not quite with you fellows on this one. Where is the brake vacuum pump oil seal located? I have an oil leak on the driver's side dripping onto the roll-bar. Could this be it?

Thanks,
Austen.

That's quite some time for an oil change Whistle
I would be guessing they were changing quite a few other bits in that amount of time. Puma 110 - gone
Series III 1973 - going strong

Transits have suffered from this problem long before Ford put the engine in the Defender and they still havn't sorted it.....

I was wondering about whether this was the case, the problem with the Transit was/is probably not as severe because it would not be used in hot dusty condtions to the same extent that Defenders are (we don't even have transits here in SA).

Not a question of if, it is a question of when, the old pump will start leaking at some stage in the conditions I use my vehicle in.

It started leaking again at 33000km on the 29th December. I took it it in to the dealer late that afternoon who insisted I book it in immediately because it is a safety concern, this was not the case the first time, I got the vehicle back early on the 31st December with the new improved pump. Hopefully this one will last.
