help with starting a td5 when hot
I've only had the landy a few days, but 3 times now it's been hard to start after switching the engine off for fuel or to nip in the shops etc.
Starts fine from cold but sounds like it's doing nothing (like when one of my old motorbikes used to vapour lock its carbs when it was hot) and once it starts to catch I've been using a wiff of throttle once it sounds like it's trying to start it.
Nearly flattened the battery the first 2 times now I'm switching the ignition off arming the immobiliser waiting 20 secs then turning off the immobiliser and trying again. Usually 3rd time round it goes. The fuel pump sounds fine, any common faults to check or tips if it's a common problem

Injector seals are hugely common, and the first place to start, but usually give cold start problems too

Next time it doesn't start, go through the fuel bleed sequence, see if it starts any easier
Also check the injector loom and ECU for oil ingress

What do you do with the keys when you stop it?
When you're re-arming the immobiliser, are you taking the keys out, locking and unlocking? They can be a bit finnicky and not properly disarm themselves.

The very one Thumbs Up

Seals can't really be checked. Best bet is to replace them, and check the head while injectors are out.
Stick with OEM or genuine seals. There is not a huge difference in price, and it eliminates them, instead of 2nd guessing what quality they are Thumbs Up
