Thanks Les!!! That is why when I run out of knowledge/capability I'm not frightened to ask for help. Save big bills later on down the line.

Mark.... I've got that electricians hole cutting kit at home, various sizes, before you go buy anything.
think I've got a few carling switched kicking around too. ex project90-3. (that could work well... If they're in my garage I can tie some string together all ready loomed up and neat. Relays etc. |

I need to template the hole and fit the rotary switch. This will determine the amount of carlings I can fit. Want to fit the max possible to future proof the system. I reckon 4 will be the magic number. I have 1 so will need to purchase 3 and the surrounds. If 3 is the magic number then I can just buy the 3 switch mount and make it easy for myself. 110 D250 SE HT

I now have all the bits and bobs I need for my installation. Looking at now mounting the heater unit but it looks very close the underside of the seat.
Has everyone mounted theirs so that the outlet points forward to the front of the vehicle or have they mounted it sideways across the vehicle? 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

Looks good. My project has gone on hold for a while. As something more important has cropped up and can't be put off. Seems I have a few projects on the go at the moment. Can't wait to get the Webasto fitted though. Ready for some winter camping 110 D250 SE HT

yes it is, but bulk of heat goes into coolant and lump warming you then rely on LR heater box to transfer heat to cabin.
i had a thermo Top C in my td5 for warming the lump (primarily) and then the interior as a 2nd priority. my puma has airtop for cabin heat and thermo top to warm the lump. run both on a school day in the winter. Right, my project is back on. Plus I have a deadline. We are going away in the near future and the Mrs wants heat in the rooftent. So I need to get on with it.
To that end does anyone have detailed pics of where you have mounted the Webasto unit. Managed to crawl underneath today and find roughly where it needs to go but there are a lot of brackets and other bits and bobs in the way. I have 2 places in mind but not sure which is the easiest solution. What is the considered opinion of those who have fitted theirs already? I know mines a Eberspacher D1 but they're roughly the same size and I've mounted mine in the same point as your top picture. Have a study underneath first so you work out where the strengthening ribs are for the seat box and you'll find a point where you don't have to disturb any of them plus you can get the intake and exhaust pipes out tidy. mine draws the air from by the door and blows hot air forward through a 90' bend so hot air goes towards the front of the cabin.
Just looked again and mine is under the near side seat as the framework of the centre seat takes up too much room. the exhaust is routed and ends inbetween the back wheel and the rear passenger door and the air intake draws air from just under the floor of the rear bed directly above the propshaft. I have done some pretty deep wading, been door sill deep in gloopy mud and have never had a problem in the past 4 years it's been fitted. I do use a seperate fuel tank on mine for a couple of reasons, one was that I didn't want to draw on the main tank on my Td5 and secondly it's far cheaper to run the heater on cherry. Hi Walfy,
I've put mine sideways, with a +/- 90° bend at the exhaust side made from some tubing. This way I can still determine where to direct the hot air. In case you put something large in front of the second row seats, the exhaust would be blocked if the heater blows directly to the front.
