Brazil 2009 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Tonga Green
I have mine clutch changed with 25000 km, the simptons before the change was the same as described, but i'm feeling that in the end of the nexts 25000 km I will have to change again! Just a shame of Land Rover, if it was an eletric window failing, but is the clutch!!!!!!! you can't run without the clutch!!!!!!, For god!!! is a DEFENDER, it can't stops just because a stupid clutch!!! I'm a mechanic engineer here in Brazil, to do a good clutch is very easy!!! I just can"t understand!!

Some more opinions???
LR is doing something about this???
The reputation of the Defender is on judge!!!!

sorry about the bad english

regards

Russia
St-Petersburg. Russia. Bought my 90 in November 2007
First time clutch gone down south at - 10 000 km in May 2008. There was no parts in whole country. Waited 40 days.
Last week, after 47 000 km, clutch was ducked again! But now it tooks 5 days to put me back on the road. Obvious progress isn't it?
As you can see LR took some measures - produce more spare clutches! Smart enough considering that guarantee only 3 years. Defender 110 '07

By the way, how much $$$ is a new clutch? Worth pre-empting every 15,000-20,000 kms (just to be on the safe side)?

Mine was changed under warranty, but I ask for the price and lucky it isn't very expensive even being for a new vehicle, it costs around R$ 2000,00 (all, parts and service), US$ 1000,00
