My radio has become a free spirit.....
I should have had this looked at whilst still under warranty I guess, but the radio in my Puma constanly keeps reverting to a news channel from either Radio One or a CD - I thought it was because I had the 'traffic announcement' option selected, but now without that it still keeps changing channels?

Any ideas - apart from the obvious which is 'drop testing' it from a great height! Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....

Could be worth getting a can of spray contact cleaner, douse the buttons with it and repeatedy push them lots of times, see if it cleans them up... you may have a sticking button?

My dad had the same problem, and cured it by holding the traffic button down for a while, rather than just pressing it. The button was a bit tempremental Confused An engine to TDi for!

Try disconnecting it completely and then re-connecting it up(after 20mins or so) so that you have to enter the security code in. This might re-start it and clear any errors messing it up. Failing that if you have traffic updates off I can't think of much you can do. Except for perhaps upgrading to an aftermarket unit.. If you wanted just CD and radio from one a good premium band head unit would only cost you around 50 - 70 and would be plug and play. Not sure what an OE LR radio would cost probably 100 + at least. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

On most models with RDS (Radio Data System) one can select a favorite PTY code (Program Type). May be you selected (by accident) the "News" PTY code ? Cheers, Vincent

Instead of a total disconnect is there not a reset button, I only ever delve into the el-cheapo end of the market for ICE but there has allways been a reset button often just a small hole under a removable fascia into which I poke a cocktail stick(non conductive in case it's the wrong hole Whistle )

That's true. Trouble is some do some don't. I can't remember if mine does or not. Whistle Saying that it's never played up to need it gods honest truth. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Mine randomly changes channels, the only solution I have found so far is to switch it off

Could well be due to poor reception. I find I don't use the radio much for that reason. Could do with a booster really but personally I don't feel it worth the effort. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Well it was the 'PTY' option, selected by holding the info button in for a while, and removed the same way. I read the instruction book, and all became clear...... Embarassed Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....
