Windscreen white line mark
My 07 from new Puma is developing a white line at the bottom of the windscreen on the passenger side that had reached to the centre and risen about 5mm above the black masking, I'm hoping this is not damp getting between the laminations. Anyone come across this, and any idea what the cause could be? I'v had loads go wrong with this car as it reached 5yrs like it got a built in destruct mode. Thanks.

I have had a period where I have unfortunately had to have two windscreens replaced within a short amount of time. Initially in severe downpours I too had water dripping from under the dashboard on the passenger side footwell. On the initial windscreen removal I was shocked to see exactly how much water and grime was sat in the windscreen channel on the outside of the vehicle. (With seal removed). The company that was fitting the replacement screen said it was a known corrosion hotspot on Defenders and that the windscreen and seal should be sealed to prevent both water ingress and corrosion particularily along the lower edge. No problems since!

The plastic sheet between the two pieces of glass, start out in life, White. When moisture gets on into it and delaminates, it returns back to that colour.
Early '90's Citroens used to delaminate a lot and something called flowering also happens Thumbs Up

If the wuindscreen seal has not been sealed correctly the moisture and crud that permanently sits in there has indeed probably permeated between the laminates. Windscreen out as first step will reveal all. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!
