What’s behind this panel?
I’m on the hunt for a place to stow my own jack, the plan to use space under the floor has been scuppered by the MHEV gubins. I unbolted the modules around the compressor but couldn’t quite make it work.

Before I start trawling the web does anyone know what’s behind this panel ? It seems separate to the side pod and I’m wondering if there is a void behind here to use if a fabricated something?

If you had the 3-zone climate control with rear cooling assist option, that flat panel would be replaced by a grey plastic cover, bulging out into the cargo area about 4 or 5 inches, enclosing an auxiliary blower for the independent rear passengers and cargo area climate dials and controls. I did remove that panel in the past but don't recall how much room there was back there without the optional blower - must not be much though, considering how fairly bulky that cover is when the auxiliary blower unit is fitted. 2020 NAS Defender 110 HSE 5-seater / Silver / Khaki / Black Pack / Black Roof / Satin Film / Cold Pack / Off-Road Pack / Advanced OR Pack / Comfort + Convenience Pack / Sirius + HD radio / HUD / Meridian Surround

Looks like it just pops off with clips. Get a panel tool and give it a pop and see what's back there.
What are you jack dimensions?

Thanks all and Yeh I’ll get it off tomorrow and see what’s what behind it even if it’s a little bit of space it will help I can fab a frame off it for the jack.

The jack is a powerbuilt All in One it’s basically a jack stand with bottle jack built in and my preferred choice after a JLR scissor jack failed on me Confused 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

I'm intrigued by this. Look forward to seeing how you get on. I've wondered about whether I could store a better jack and kit behind the spare wheel. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.

Behind the wheel something I thought of too but would rather keep it out of the elements.

For reference my load space

I want the jack stored upright to avoid leaks. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

It’s a PowerBuilt all in one, very sturdy and safe it drops into the jack stand ratchets as you raise it then to lower you bump it up a bit, disengage the ratchet and lower on the bottle jack bleed screw. Been good for my Discoveries and the full fat.
