Front swivel pin replacement
Have excess movement in top pin bearing.
Any step to step guide on replacing the bearings top and bottom
Its a 2007 2.4
Does the swivel need removed from the front axle?

Swivel ball can stay on axle for bearings to be replaced. Wheel off, hub off, cv out, outer swivel off by undoing 2 bolts holding top and 2 bolts on bottom king pins.. refit and set preloaded with shims using spring balance or by feel.

Brake bracket that holds flexi may need taking off, adapting with top King pin if it's fitted.

I would be tempted to change swivel chrome ball and seals of you going in that far form the age of vehicle if its on original setup.

Also consider having bearings to hand so a judgement call can be made whilst in there Cheers

The Haynes Manual is useful for this task, it's got the all relevant torque values in as well as the 'pull-off check' details you'll need if you replace the bearings and/or shims. Cheers,

Paul

The genuine Land-Rover WSM (which is freely available on this forum thanks to the generosity of a forum member) is superior in almost every respect to the Haynes offering.

Absolutely WSM is better but the Haynes is workable and many people probably already have one sitting around the garage!

Either way there's a couple of things about doing the job that you wouldn't necessarily know unless someone told you so finding a reliable reference source is important Thumbs Up Cheers,

Paul

Just did it in mine and made a video to help out, if you have a Td5 do replace the pin for the 300 Tdi one
