Wiring going into the engine bay

I was doing some checking of the engine bay over the weekend.

I've discovered a coil of cables in the engine bay coming out from behind the radio/dash.

Obviously something from a previous owner.

Tracing the cables, there is an aux fuse panel.

No power going to it, just in a coil in the engine bay

Bizarre.

Going to trace and remove it most likely or repurpose/relocate it.

Any ideas of what it would have been for originally?

Would there have been a second battery in the engine bay (drivers side)?
