I would stick with the original one as both top and bottom joints are replaceable, unlike the Td5 / Puma type which only has one replaceable joint, the second is integrated into the shaft and requires the shaft to be replaced.
I always thought the later shaft was a downgrade! I also have my own opinion of Bolt on Bits!!! |

Wasn't the later shaft designed with the shear pins in it, so if you had a front end smash the steering column/wheel didn't get pushed up into your face?

The earlier shafts have a slip joint in them to achieve the same end.
