Defender 90 Commercial - Rear Load Space Query
My preferred wheel refurbishment people cannot fit the 'van' in to have the wheels refurbished until September (if I need to leave the van there). If I can drop the wheels in loose they can turn them around within a week!

I've used them a number of times before and they are only 30 miles from home so I'd like to stick with them.

QUESTION - Does anyone know if you can you fit four 22inch alloys with fitted tyres (275 / 45 / 22) in the rear load space of 90 commercial in a way that won't damage the alloys or the interior. On paper it looks like it should be possible.

Cheers

It’s tight, but doable. Have you got the bulkhead in or out?

l've had four wheels in the back of my 90 Commercial you stack three on the left and put one alongside. The top wheel of the stack, move it over to the right and it will keep the fourth wheel from moving.

Put a towel over the top of the fourth wheel to avoid the possibility of marking the headlining.

Obviously you can put one on the back, instead of the spare. But l assume you want to carry five wheels in total.

This is with the steel wheels and the three in the stack are quite close to the roof. lf your wheels are much wider you won't get three on top of each other.

If it's too tight I'll use the spare wheel carrier for the 4th and risk driving back without a spare

Cheers, I'll update the thread with how I get on.
