Handbrake cable question
Hello all, I've spent the day trying to replace my handbrake cable after it snapped at the lever/cab end - as it turns out I have the wrong cable but I've ordered the correct one which should be here soon.
My question relates to removing the old cable/sheath - I've removed the prop shaft at the drum, removed the drum and both shoes with springs etc and now I'm left with the cable (with the spring on the end) and outer sheath - but I can't work out if I just need to pull the sheath out, or if it's retained in some way mechanically? Similarly, the sheath at the cab end looks like it might be 13mm nut - please set me straight if not.
Any help gratefully received - as usual the Haynes manual is rubbish!
