Are the new LED lights of good quality and approved for road use? I am asking as I just removed my LED light that came with the truck, since no amount of adjustment would stop oncoming traffic to flash at me. A quick look through one of those instruments used to check the beam level revealed that their beam was all over the place. They could not be adjusted to be legal.
To adjust the height I use the screws at 3 & 9 o’clock. I’ve also tried with the 6 o’clock screw but can’t recommend it since that could have contributed to the failure of the levelling motor. If those are not enough I would check that the house sit properly in the bezel. |

The headlight is held in at three points.
3 o’clock 9 o’clock And the adjuster on 6 o’clock. If you can’t get enough adjustment on the base screw (6 o’clock) adjust the other two (3 and 6 o’clock) out. Which is the same, physically, as adjusting base (6 o’clock) in. Hope that makes sense |

Just to elaborate, the standard adjuster screws have a captive washer under the screw head that remains in situ when the screw is turned . The headlight Bezel (mounting ring) lugs sit between the screw head and that washer.
Therefore if the screw is rotated clockwise the headlight moves in, if rotated anti-clockwise the headlight moves out. Hence following what Andy has said should ensure the headlights are adjusted correctly if they are CE compliant RHD lights and light Bezel is fitted correctly. |

thanks all, in answer to the question "are they good quality LED's", they're at the better end of the spectrum but definitely not mega expensive.
Adjusting the 3 and 6 o'clock screws out, combined with the 6 o'clock screw inwards has made a huge difference, so thanks for all the advice. the only issue I have now is that when I go to adjust the headlamp leveller (to compensate for having a heavy load) I'm hearing a noise as the motor kicks in, but it isn't having any effect...I wonder if I've overtightened the 6 o'clock screw. I'll have a play with that over the next day or 2. Thanks again! |

You need to have left enough room on the 6 o’clock adjust screw for it to adjust its self via the motor.
So you may need to bring 3 and 9 further out to compensate. I was surprised how different my settings were when I fitted a new levelling motor the other month. |
