Hey guys
So getting this noise while driving (see video https://youtube.com/shorts/GXUs8K3T8d0?feature=share) Only happens when applying power, generally from third gear onwards. No shaking in the steering, no feedback in the pedal, just the noise. If I lift, it stops. If I accelerate to gear up it stops just before the next gear then starts again as the gear engages. Mech is sure it's the UJ on the prop shaft. I got a pair of "defender" UJs and sadly they don't match. The thing is the shaft was already removed and the mech did NOT mark the position the shaft was connected in (which I'm seeing is always recommended). My question is, is there a default configuration for the replacement of the shaft (axle/ratio)? Or any way to replace the shaft so that there are no issues or the driving isn't affected? Also, what could go wrong? I'm in Trinidad, so it takes a while to get parts down here from the UK. So I "have time" I just don't like my truck left anywhere too long. 110 SW 2.4 IZUMI BLUE |

Ah!!! Got it. Thanks.
Actually expecting a total replacement of the front shaft anyways so that should work out. 110 SW 2.4 IZUMI BLUE |

I don’t know if it’s helpful or not, but remember you can always run 2WD with diff locked if you need to.
Can be really helpful, if you need to keep going with a Prop out. Just make sure if it’s the rear, you bolt the handbrake drum back on. _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___ ___\⭐️Lone|Star|State/___ ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰*\\_ |

Well, that's a bit out of my scope atm. Hopefully I never have to use that option.
Great tip though. I must say man. You really know these cars. I wish we were neighbours. 110 SW 2.4 IZUMI BLUE |

We’re like a big family, help one another out, knowledge is shared and mutual respect garnered for every member.
Though these things are often shared, it’s useful to know, as nearly everyone has encountered such problems once, so knowledge to fixes and repairs are, really helpful to everyone. Especially useful at a particular point which could be urgent you know. That kind of thing. ![]() ___\⭐️Lone|Star|State/___ ____\We|Will|Win/___ ____/🇬🇧🇺🇸\____ _//*⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰*\\_ |

Trust me. I really do appreciate it.
Just to update. I was gifted an entire driveshaft so just swapped out the front. Back on the road and right as rain. Will get the Ujs and put them in my old shaft and keep as spare. Thanks for the advice. That transfer box tip was excellent. 110 SW 2.4 IZUMI BLUE |

When you say driveshaft, do you mean front propshaft ?

Americans confusingly call propshafts driveshafts. I know why create all this confusion!

Australians call the rear propshaft the "tailshaft". I don't know what they call the front propshaft.
