Timing TDI 110, 1985
Hi there,

Been working on restoring my 110, back at trying to get the timing worked out.
It didn't want to start after I installed a new fuel injector pump.
I pulled the injector pump again and reset the timing to 1.6.
Taking my time to make sure the crank and flywheel is timed correctly.
When looking at the flywheel from below I can see the two marker lines and the two pin cut outs.
Looking from the left top I can see the pin cutouts but can't spin the crank all the way to get the two lines to show. For some reason the crank will spin with my tools almost 360 deg but gets stuck just before the crank marker lines up.

So what to do to get the crank spinning all the way around?
Do I need to take to glow plugs out and then the top cover?

Cheers Cecil

If the crank is getting ‘stuck’, could be piston hitting a valve. Check your camshaft / valve timing. I hope you did not try to start. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Got it all lined up after I took the top engine cover off. Timing is all setup now,

Let's hope it starts when I close it all up
