Ordered the above made a huge difference, well worth every penny. Cracking service as always, from ordering to delivery.

Just finished a 300 mile trip, noise & heat wasn't a problem, with the added volume of oil, and the ability to keep it cool. Fitted a Thermax strip, showed that the casing didn't reach 82c, before i was touching, just a tad under 100c.

Exhaust pipe hasn't caused any adverse issues either.

I've got one on the kitchen table here (!) - ordered the seal for it this afternoon.

Will fit it soon.

Hi

Does this come with a gasket or did you use silicone sealant?

I dont think youre asking me, but mine came from another supplier - they mailed me after saying they had forgotten the gasket, and offered to send one, but i just added it to a subsequent order.

So, i will use both the stock gasket, and also the hylomar (or whatever its called) stuff.

It's been years since LT230 transfer boxes used any gaskets, they are assembled with RTV such as Hylosil.

Is it just the camera angle..that exhaust coupling looks far to close to the casing, given you could expect some exhaust and transmission movement..?

I sold mine without fitting it because of how close the exhaust was to the high cap sump. I was concerned about heat and even whether the 2 could come into contact on corrugated tracks. I'd be interested in feedback from.anyone who has done say a Morocco trip with one fitted. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I thought about fitting the larger sump to the transfare box, but after fitting a 3' demand exhaust that sort of ruled that idea out as I just don't think there would be the room..
I have done Morocco with the standard transfare box.. and have checked the casing temperatures after a bit of a run..
by no means a detailed investigation but don't recall seeing anything alarming..
Engine sump in the 80's and transfare box in the 50 to 60's centigrade..
Those stick on strips would be the better way to record the max temperatures in use is suspect..

I had an Ashcroft Puma modified sump too but never fitted it as still too close to the exhaust for my liking.

Many years ago I regularly drove a 300tdi from Cornwall to a Scotland in the middle of the summer, the gearbox tunnel used to be roasting hot. I imported the high capacity sump from Roverdrive who were the original designers and it made a difference to the temperature when fitted so they are worth fitting.

I have read that removing the centre silencer of the exhaust makes quite a difference in cabin heat also. As that’s a bit heat holding part. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

No it doesn't, i used Hylosil, as per the other post.

Will take differing angle picture showing the exhaust, its not a stock exhaust, its a S/S free flow.

True, and that also includes having one less big item under there to get hit by anything. _\Hennessey|Venom| F5/___
