There are 2 covers under the dash, driver and passenger side. Both should be there. I think same part number, YQH500300, but not 100% sure, maybe you can check with the one that you have that fits either side.
I do not think that Shopee ships to Europe... but I know what my suitcase will be filled with on my next trip to Malaysia  Then deal with customs later .

I'm glad there are two (they are the same) because the MOT guy damaged one of the flimsy "hinges"
 Now I remove it before MOT and they think I'm being courteous  |

I also broke one side of the hinge pins on the cover. And I was being extremely careful removing the cover as wanted to plug an obd reader and get values while driving. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Why would your MOT guy go anywhere near the cover? What was he doing to necessitate it? He shouldn't be touching the cover for an MOT test, so send him the bill for a new one. |

uh? They plug in their test equipment (OBD port), measuring exhaust parameters / controlling revs, and brake deceleration. How do they do it in the UK?

UK MoT test doesn't require OBD access, and in fact the tester isn't allowed to remove any panels or covers during the test (other than bonnet, doors and filler flap).
Your mention of "MOT" made me.think you were UK but clearly you're not. |

Sorry for the misunderstanding, blackwolf. It's the German TÜV for me, but you can't even spell that
It's interesting to hear MOT doesn't use the ODB port. Since OBD was introduced because of exhaust regulations I thought they'd always had to diagnose if all exhaust-related systems work as they should. My TÜV report states "0 exhaust-relevant errors in fault memory". So MOT manually revs the engine to do the tests? Here it's done by the test computer which also reads out engine temperature (has to be >80°C), idle rpm and max. rpm. Target values for the Defender are in the system and it compares actual values. |

I wonder what the German TÜV would read if some of the exhaust related hardware is mapped out of the ecu?
Why I ask? Because locally, the test is more like the British MOT but there are rumors about including an obd connection as part of the test. And I have a 2.2 used in roads where I cannot reach 80km/hr let alone maintain it for a good few minutes. Good point. So far I know that no fault codes are allowed re exhaust systems. I'll try to find out more.
Also since 2015 they check for existence and fault codes of saftey ECUs/systems such as ABS, airbags (haha). This is mandatory for vehicles registered from 2012. New business model for them what with all the modern gadgets... |
