Condensation in Front Lamps
Took the front 4 x clear round lenses off at the weekend, as they were full of condensation and have been for weeks. Dried them out in the house, put them back on only for the problem to re-occurr a few days later after light rain.

Back lenses are all ok. Is this a common problem?

I noticed the seal between the bulb holder and lense housing was made using cheap foam ring rather than a quality rubber seal, providing for a watertight lense Rolling Eyes

Are they aftermarket ones? The OEM clear ones on the front of my truck are fine, but the aftermarket (WIPAC?) clear indicators practically have goldfish swimming in them Rolling Eyes

Yep, they are original LR ones. Had the truck from new now... 4 months

Could it be that the condensation will be prominent at the front as the warm air generated from proximity to the engine will get into the lenses (through a poor bulb holder/lens assembly seal maybe) and then creates the condensation when it encounters the rush of colder air from the front as you drive??

I took all my original front and rear lenses off recently (6 year old td5) to clean/grease the electrical contacts. I didn't encounter any condensation issues but I did have the same flimsy foam seal you mention. I smeared a bit of ACF50 grease (the blue stuff - don't believe that this will degrade the foam) around the seal when re-assembling. Wasn't really thinking of condensation, just to improve the overall seal against the elements.

May be worth a go to try to combat the condensation issue too ? Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.
