Oooo wow! Some stunning photographs! I love the interior on yours the wood is really pretty. We considered more of a wood finish to ours, but we reused quite a few bits of the wood which were already painted.
We currently have 2 cupboard doors to fit on one side and 3 to cut out then fit on the otherside (we're awaiting some more hinges which I think will be with us tomorrow. Once they are sorted, I think we might have completed what we set out to do - minus roof top tent and thermo top c. Didn't realise I never posted finished pics! We were so excited we got it done, we somewhat packed up and left for Bonnie Scotland as quick as we could!
Will get on these soon, just a small PSA for anyone reading... check your mudguard fixings... Was out yesterday and walking back to the defender noticed the rear drivers mudguard was hanging sideway, 2 of the 3 fixings were missing and the third popped out with a gentle tug. Got home, 3 new bolts and sorted. Bitter sweet really, they have Britpart emblazoned in bright yellow on them, so I hear I shouldn't really be advertising them  but saves having to cough up for new mudflaps for the moment when the list of to do's and "want to do's" is growing  The Yeti - 110 Camper https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic90308.html

So, we've had a new plan.
We decided that as we live in a city environment, that our defender just doesn't fit in. So we've decided we're going to go a different direction and have it lowered. So, silly April fools aside (I know it was after midday, but I was busy!
)
Back on track: One evening before Easter we ambled up to Dartmoor with the view an easy walk, cup'o'tea (coffee) and to put out our awning sides, which we've never done or seen before. Also gave me a chance to take a few shots of the inside, its not quite showroom tidiness and the light was fading, but will give you guys an idea. First the awning:  Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Seems like a great additional space, but there are a few issues I found. Admittedly it was put up in a rush but there is a big gap between the vehicle mounted "awning"/sunshade and the ceiling of the compartment, the compartment also doesn't have any roof support, so it sags. I can see rain water heading straight into that gap and forming a large puddle very easily. Unfortunately Armadillo 4x4 UK (the brand) seemingly doesn't exist anymore, so no book of destructions or anything included... So need to revisit that. Secondly it's quite a bulky bag and its not a standalone awning, so it renders the Yeti immobile when deployed and we don't tend to park up for days... (we aren't that organised! )
Onto the interior: First up, the cooker. This has pretty much stayed the same, from how the previous owner had it - however we added some dense foam because I can't deal with rattling noises (Defender rattles excluded )
We repainted the drawers etc, but didn't change it. It's somewhat handy and the majority of utensils can live underneath it (spatulas and the like), but during our trip to Scotland in Jan/Feb we were less keen... The weather wasn't great and so cooking outside was a challenge in the wind and rain (always is I guess), additionally the gas seems to give up about halfway through a pot and requires constant shaking to re-invigorate it. So we'll likely change what we're doing here in the future. Click image to enlarge Behind the drivers seat we stored a water can and our fridge (not pictured), we have a strap around the cupboard metal frame that we loop round the fridge and water and clip onto the headrest and it all stays put. To the right of the water can there is one of the sliding windows, these are still accessible, but instead of curtains we used the cut outs of insulation and stuck it into some heavy duty material and then it sort of fits in place and acts as a block out. Easily removable, lightweight and they stay out the way. We've done this on both sides. Also means that we can leave them in place when parked up anywhere and it keeps the back a bit more hidden - although the tints are pretty amazing. Built the overhead storage bit, which is handy for chucking anything on the camper side, washbags etc etc - Also absolutely brilliant for smashing your head on!

It also meant I could mount a couple of speakers (although a smidge small) and gave us another place for some stickers! For the trip away we also had a curtain fitted up across there, but that all went a little awry for a few reasons, so that needs addressing. We've seen water containers in the shape of a spare wheel which can be stored on a spare wheel carrier - this is something of interest. We're also on the hunt for a rear door awning (1.2m Hannibal seems to be recommended, but a maybe hard to source). Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge In retrospect, I'd have probably built the entire unit in one, then placed it into the LR next time, fitting the hinges and catches was v difficult afterwards! but this is the front in place before cutting out doors. We pretty much had it all as we wanted, all Ply'd and 90% fitted, then it was back out all over again to paint it all up. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge So the hole was cut and we fitted a small bowl in there - visions of fitting a drain hole, maybe plumbing in tank/whale pump - not sure if we will - handy bowl for teeth last thing at night!
To the left of the hole (hadn't fit hinges in pic yet), is a flap, once the drivers seat is forward it can be lifted up to reveal the 110v breakers, also have an inverter underneath that can be easily accessed (without lifting) for fridge power, or charging. I don't think we have (m)any pictures of the lighting we fitted, it was all sort of a case of cables and what not and chaos, then it was suddenly done... We ran strip led on the top of the unit and under the surface to illuminate lower cupboards, these were fitted to 12v to 5v USB converters. Then we have 3 gooseneck lights with USB chargers fitted, then the cuboards themselves have little dome lights inside. We have a 3 switch control panel in the back, which we pretty much use as the main on/off point, but each light can be switched separately. - just prefer the main switch to avoid any battery drain woes - but I think we'd struggle to drain it. Oh also have a v ugly switched bar light above the back door, but it's very bright, so it was a good thing to fit. Figured I'd add these here as well.
The front plates were looking a bit worn, so decided to repaint them - figured raptor paint is all the rage, a few recommendations on here too so would give that a go. I brushed it on, which was OK, but I realised second coat that if I sort of stipple the brush it gives it a better texture and less brush strokes. Haven't got any pics, but recently purchased a clamshell style roof tent and we decided to face it back to front as we both find climbing up the front of the land rover very easy and my wife is less keen on ladders etc... so we stuck it up there and shuffled it towards the back of the vehicle, so that there is an area in front of the tent opening...
Issue is, I now see it as only a matter of time before someones foot slips between the bars and they're sent head over biscuit leaving their ankle behind. So ideally, I need to "floor" that section of the roof rack and I'm not really sure what to do. I could temporarily fit a bit of timber here, I probably have some ply knocking about, and it'd suffice I suppose, but long term - chequer tread plate? Could you not use some Buffalo board or the like which is an epoxy coated grippy plywood not cheap but gets used on all our staging at work and lasts well and doesn't get to slippery? 110 Td5 Ex Utilities slowly converting into a pop top camper one day

I have had galvanised mesh on mine now for 24 years. It is held down with cable ties that I replace periodically as they become brittle with UV.

It's been a busy time before this weekend trying to tidy up the Yeti before the LRGG. We had a carpet in the back, but it was pretty damp and smelly...(think our water carrier leaked!) and not so user friendly, so wife decided last minute to cut it out. With just a ply floor we dug about and found some vinyl self adhesive tiles.

Click image to enlarge But should be much easier to keep them cleaner than a carpet! Overcame the gap in the roof rack (mentioned previously) with some chequer board and left over ply... also had enough raptor paint for another Jurassic Park movie, so covered it in that and hopefully that'll do for the time being, buffalo board might be the way to go in the future, but couldn't get any in time. Click image to enlarge Last night made it to the Global Gathering and got to set up for the first time with our new (2nd hand) roof tent! Also first chance to try our awning whilst actually camping! Bedroom upstairs, kitchen/dining room in awning and landrover is our relaxing sitting room and get warm room!.... and for drying the doggo!
