I had At2's on my Discovery and thought the were fantastic.

The new AT's look rubbish IMO, I will be betting BFG's for the Defender when the time comes.

Ken, they look like a nice tyre from your previous posts.

Don't see them for sale very often?

The Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs on the loan 90 we had were pretty aggressive but VERY noisy on tarmac.

Great grip in mud - no idea about snow.

And of course, they look cool too Cool

Happy with our GG TRs TBH but we do a fair bit go road driving. If we did loads of offroading, I might look for something a little more aggressive. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

You see quite a few sets of MTR's on ebay..

I wonder if they are hard to live with on a daily basis?

I liked the TRs as well on tarmac but not on soft ground. i also noticed just how loud they droned at speed after i changed to BFG ATs which a much quieter at speed. BM52

General AT2. Thumbs Up still available and should be for some time, better wet weather and snow performance than BFG, and a lot cheaper. Thumbs Up Andy.

Andy,
Are AT2's being discontinued in favor of the AT?

Your enduros are fine. there is a whole world outside BFG,l not that you'd know that from this site though Laughing Runways are great tyres Thumbs Up

oh, and search for my long thread about AT2's. Avoid them for anything but tarmac.

Only 225/75x16, 235/85x16, 265/75x16 and 235/75x15 sizes available in AT2, the rest are now covered by AT.

Can't quite understand the statement about AT2 only to be used on tarmac, the AT2 is still the most popular tyre from all of my happy customers. Thumbs Up Andy.

http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic5453.h...rabber+at2

Turned out this wasn't a one off. In discussions with various suppliers, they had seen similar issues with the sidewalls, all denied by continental. One no longer supplies them after the number of issues their customers had with them. And continental handle complaints VERY poorly indeed, there is absolutely no admission of fault no matter what. I'd never have them again.

BigMike,

With respect.

If these tyres were as bad as you say I for one would not be selling them, I have been with the General brand for more years than I care to remember and can honestly say I have had a lot more problems with other brands.

I use the General brand on most of my fleet and am very happy to do so.

I think you have had a bad experence with the AT2's which I for one am very sorry to hear and can understand your feelings and thoughts about the General AT2. Please don't forget we are moving on to the AT which I have to say has become very popular in all the sizes.

It's not a perfect world and sometimes things go wrong with anything and I think it's important to work on these things and find a solution.

Genuinely I have not had this problem you have experienced, and would be very happy to talk to you about this matter as I would like a bit more info if you have the time please.

Regards

Andy. Andy.
