Interesting to see you tackling the roof lining, something I’m considering soon. What’s that your painting on?

PVA Glue.

They were so saggy and damp. Hee hee.

Completely stripped them and dried out. Put on several coats of PVA.

Washed fabric with washing powder and dried.

Then contact adhesive to re stick the fabric.

Took some heat to stretch back into position but is pretty good. Got all the contours back.

Not sure how long it will last though.

I’m also working out how I can put extra support on the rear.

Did you find it helped to stiffen/reform the panels? Mine need a tweak back to shape, something I want to do in the next few months.

This is such a unicorn. The effort put into this project will be so worth it. Looking forward to seeing the end result.

They were there for the NAS.
The indicators were lower down the panel.

Ive just had some really great news!

After some emails and phone calls, Landrover Got back to me about the car.

I have the original factory build sheet and the vehicle history card.

Its actually MONZA red, was built with a soft top and a hard top apparently.
Also had traction control fitted.

I now have the original build date, chassis number confirmation, full spec sheet and all the info right down to the original key number.

The down side is it was never allocated a NAS Number. Like the 50th's all NAS cars came with unique number.

As this one was never destined for the USA it was not given a number, shame as this would have been a great addition to the history.

She's looking great with the new coat of paint on and the headlining you re-did looks proper Very Happy

That is good news with the information from Land Rover, you could always put your own number on it Whistle 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

Thanks. Not sure how long the headlining will last. May get new when funds allow.

Any suggestions from the collective on numbering?

Amazing work, always think the NAS look strange not having the lights higher up on the shoulder at the rear but guess its just what you are used to seeing.

Personally I would put a second reverse light on for symmetry (and much needed extra illumination).

Thanks.

Unfortunately can’t put a second one on. That’s where the fog lamp will be going.

I just need to modify a mount to get it to fit in round the hinge.

Nas cars never had a fog lamp.

Bit more done today.

Probably not the way you want to go but there was a guy on here a while ago who found lights in the same form/ profile as the NAS style but with a combined brake and reverse light if I remember correctly

Have you lowered it back to original now, looks high but pos just an optical illusion due to the bumper being off?
