Thanks for the info Blackwolf.
![]() A beautiful car. A bit more digging reveals that one to be a converted TR250, using original Dove panels. So it's not just rare it's almost certainly unique. Recent Sale details. https://www.iconicauctioneers.com/1966-tri...2-nec-1122 |

There were a couple of clean looking MGFs that entered our local hill climb a few weeks ago. Very quiet going up the hill compared to some of the big Aussie muscle cars

I used an MGF as a donor car for the rover metro i had, Not many places can fix those due to the suspension setup on them, You need a hydrolastic suspension pump.
the later MGFTF had the coil and damper setup, and i think there was some sort of Hydrolastic replacement been looked into years ago, but i don't think that ever came forward. Laugh is these used quite a bit of rover metro, shame they have vanished as these were quite common cars, and maybe the only one out of the MG Rover range that held the value. I spotted a Rover 75 estate in gold /bronze, it was on a 53 plate. How cars have changed since that time! When that was new, EV wasn't even thought about, let a lone hybrid. NA diesels, manual choke cars and NA petrols were still about, and turbos belonged on High end petrols and Diesels were still mechanical pump driven and could run chip pan oil.

There were EVs and hybrids before the turn of the Century:
Toyota Prius, 1997, hybrid. Honda Insight, 1999, hybrid. The Prius was developed by Toyota to be the "car for the 21st century";[1][2] it was the first mass-produced hybrid vehicle,[3] first going on sale in Japan in 1997 at all four Toyota Japan dealership chains,[3] and subsequently introduced worldwide in 2000.[4] The Honda Insight (ホンダ・インサイト, Honda Insaito) is a hybrid electric vehicle that is manufactured and marketed by Honda. Its first generation was a two-door, two passenger liftback (1999–2006)[2][3] EVs from the 1990s, https://www.topspeed.com/electric-cars-from-the-1990s/ |

From the 80s: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinclair_C5
Milk Floats were electric way before that!! A great quote: "In August 1967, the UK Electric Vehicle Association put out a press release stating that Britain had more battery-electric vehicles on its roads than the rest of the world combined" |

And before the turn of the century before that. The "Jamais Contente", in 1899 the first road vehicle to exceed a speed of 100kph and for a time holder of the land speed record: ![]() |
