Thanks! I will skip the LR cable.
So your connection is: Mirror > Fakra cable (50 cm) > Camera/cover. That seems like do-able with my skill set. =D |

You just need a female to female cable. I used a 5m in my 110 it’s too longs but works.

Got it. I read entire threads again and got the idea that LR164584 is basically converting Female to Male connections. So if I buy Fakra Female to Female, I can eliminate and connect mirror and the camera with just one cable. For my Defender 90, I ordered 6 ft (1.82 m) female to female. I hope the length and connection works.
As I now fully ordered all the parts, I'll report back once I have all parts and installed. Thank you everyone for supporting my project! US Spec Defender 90, these are the parts I ordered: • LR1403340 Smart Mirror with Home Link - used from US 110 donor car https://www.ebay.com/itm/375814666311 • LR140535 Fin Camera (US specific) - suppose to come with the cover https://www.ebay.com/itm/386774670497 • Fakra Cable Female to Female (6 ft / 1.82 m) - cheap eBay version https://www.ebay.com/itm/133373277615 |

Hi. I want to attempt the mirror upgrade. My question is, what is the easiest way to get the plastic housing around the mirror arm off? It feels rather fragile. Don’t want to break it.
Thanks |

I just used a trim removal tool like the one pictured and just carefully inserted it into the line down the middle of the trim and eased them apart.

I was a bit apprehensive but it came apart easy.

I tried to install yesterday but found out Fakra Cable 6 ft / 1.82 m wasn't long enough for D90. So I ordered 10 ft (3m). Will report back buys. Thanks! |

Just finished installing it with 12 ft. cable (6 ft. didn't work. 8 ft. maybe tight and 10 ft. would be enough but I just wanted to be sure so used 12 ft. cable) for my D90 and def. fishing wire is the hardest part. Other than that, everything went very smoothly. I coded Clearsight mirror via GAP Tool before install so the second I installed, Clearsight worked right away. Thanks everyone for the support!

By the way, I did radar detector hardwire same time as I already have exposed mirror harness.
Here is a picture of harness from another member who identified positive/negative wires. I used Blendmount's Mirror Tab 12" ![]() Click image to enlarge |

The posts have been great, with all the part numbers and diagrams. I just did my mirror upgrade yesterday on my 130. It took me about five hours as I don’t usually work on cars. The fishing was really time consuming, and I had three long challenges that made me feel like it was over, but I got it done. I used a metal fish tape thankfully, as twice I needed to use an extendible magnet to reach the end of the fish tape. I routed the cable on the driver’s side as per #thunderbob's advice. I had a plumber’s camera which was VITAL to figure out the fishing problems. The fishing route on the driver's side was Rear Seat Light --> Rear, Middle Seat Light --> Rear Seat Light, Middle Seat Light --> Front Console. I used thick weed trimmer line for the reverse fishing. The fishing from the console to the mirror was impossible on the driver's side, and once I ran it up and over to the passenger side, there was a route.
Here is my parts list, similar to #isugoo and #thunderbob above, but with a longer Fakra cable: LR140340 Clearsight Mirror LR140535 Aerial with Camera US/Canada region LR117853 Aerial Cover LR091317 Roof Clip Fakra 5 metre cable, female to female https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0BPC5LWBC?ref=pp...asin_title The 5 metre cable worked fine and there was only a small length left over that I coiled and taped up in roof liner space. I did not use any Land Rover cables. Here are a few photos. The roof liner clip: recommend you pry on top of the yellow flange instead of the black roof liner clip. ![]() Click image to enlarge The rear door trim clips break easily, so best to to reach in and push the plastic back away from the coils before pulling down. I think two of mine were already broken, but it could have been me. They fixed easily with a bit of crazy glue. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge |
