Bought my 110 puma new last year. Never really used the aircon until now ( Too bloody cold during the winter) . I Know the heater works as it quite merrily scorches my left ankle. But the aircon on cold does not seem to make any difference to the normal cold blower. Are they all rubbish or is mine "Cream Crackered". It's due in for the hand brake recall so will mention it then, but was just wondering, as other cars i've had with aircon make the interior like a fridge during hot weather, or is it just a land rover thing?
Cheers Steve |

Make sure heater circulation lever is pushed al the way to the left (recirculate). Also, I find it works best when air direction knob set to point directly to face (or face and feet).
Then set to maximum cold. I find mine takes approx. 10 mins. to get really cold, but when it gets there, it's cold enough!

Thanks guys, sounds like mine is definately faulty, have tried all the different blower positions and vent combinations, but no joy. Oh well, the one and only fault in 12 months other than a blown fuse. Can't have everything.
Cheers again Steve |

Hi Cobs,
Cheers for that. But surely it shouldn't happen on a vehicle that is not yet 12 months old? |

age is irrelevant, the handbook probably states that it needs regular use, you wouldn't not check the oil for 12 months and then say an engine should not sieze on a vehicle only 12 months old,

as kingofthesparks says - of course it could be something completely different but I'd start by looking for leaks |

True, very true. Cheers, will get it checked out. Although i must admit i've never seen any puddles or tell tale stains under it. (A first for me in my previous landrover ownership

you wont see any leaks as the leaking is a gas not a liquid, or so i am led to belive,

Didn't realise it was so long ago, but here's an update. Took it in for brake recall and service (Which was done), and also mentioned the air-con and some corrosion issues (Hinge bolts, rear step and strip along the bottom of rear load bay). Anyway they have now booked it in for an entire week to sort/replace a faulty air-con compressor and the rust. Seems like a hell of a long time, or is it just me?
Also, after the service it seemed a hell of a lot smoother, would it have had the ECU altered? On the motorway it also seemed to be faster before the speed limiter cut in. Is this just rose tiinted spectacles or could it possibly be? |

If under warranty they would of updated the ecu software to latest spec [which is a lot better] so yes probably does drive better ![]() Ref Air con - mine didnt work from day 1 also , like your's it was a faulty compressor. not that uncommon apparantly ![]() |
