Have you any other cables attached to either of the bolts that clamps the main cables to the battery, in particular the earth cable clamp to the battery ? I ask as that stops the clamp gripping the terminal and can cause an intermittent fault in starting and when engine is running. If not loosen battery clamps, tap down but not too hard, then re tighten battery cable clamps.

All standard fettings.

I always find its best to use standard fettings when I do cheese as well

There are putting a complete LOF clutch at the moment.

If they do that, now would be the best opportunity ever to perform these test to be able to work on the starter....
