Hazard Switch
Hi All,

Re-wiring my 1986 LR90 2.5 NA, I’m struggling with 2 (new) 7 pin hazard switches YUF101490 like these:

Everything works fine when I bypass the switch but not with the switch in the circuit.

On testing, I’m unable to get continuity between pin 8 and 7 in either on or off switch position.

Have I got duff switches or am I missing something?

Many Thanks,

The Land Rover hazard switch is part number YUF101490

Lucas 30771 (152SA), although similar looking, is not listed as an alternative to YUF101490

So, I would guess that it isn't wired the same.

Have you got the pin numbers correct Question

This drawing shows the rear of the connector, which corresponds with looking at the rear of the switch -

The wiring should be, as below -

Can you jump 7 and 8 to see if the switch is faulty? If it all works as it should you know it's a switch issue, no?

I’ve seen this before, the similar looking switch for a Mini is wired differently inside and doesn’t work!  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
