They’re around 650kg unladen with a load rating of around 1100. So the max weight in theory would be 1750kg and I’m sure most would agree you’d want brakes with that amount of weight behind you. They’re also built heavily enough that I would imagine they can cope with a lot more weight. Coupled with the idea they may be used in abnormal/extreme conditions I can see why they’ve got such a serious set of brakes.

The ULW of a GS Penman is 620kg and the payload is 1130kg, resulting in a gross weight of 1750kg.
So yes, they are required by law to have brakes. |

Sorry but I can't pm you as I've only just joined the forum. Can you tell me where you got a master cylinder for your penman brakes? I've managed to damage the reservoir on mine and could do with finding a replacement. If you've still got your old one and the reservoir is intact I'd be happy to make you an offer! Chris |
