CPS cable snap
Hi
Was just replacing my Crank Position Sensor and as i was connecting it up to the wiring harness I noticed that one of the (2) sensor wires was broken. Unfortunately its damn near the plug and as you probably know, its not in the mist accessible of positions.

Don't think i can get a soldering iron in there let alone strip the wires at both ends to maker a connection.

guess what i really need is a new plug with some tails on it

Options ?

And the solution is go to your friendly land rover parts people who have a plug that fits the CPS with tails on it so all i have to do is cut the old one off and connect the new one ... somehow ....

Plug is a basic 2pin Econoseal type (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143412803593)

Just cut the old one off and crimp on new terminals onto a fresher section of the existing cable.

For these events, I chop the connectors of the 'replaced injector harness', which are of this same type. Have a few in a toolbox in the car. They are pretty good for a quick fix, but the insulation tends to have hardened from sitting inside the engine.

You are correct different connector. I got confused with the various temperature sensors.

Quickly nipped into the garage where i have a 1999 R380 lying around and took a quick picture for reference. The roundish one is the CPS
