Quick question please, as I can't find the answer.

Does the Defender automatically raise suspension height (air suspension), and close the vent flaps in front of the rad, when it senses being driven through deeper water?. Or do you need to physically activate Wade mode beforehand?

Reading the OP's original comments, it appears he didn't do anything to raise vehicle height and only noticed it had happened after the event.

It raises into extended mode automatically, you can then make it go higher following the steps in the guide

To my understanding in TR2, and if wade sensing is turned on, regardless of the current program, the vehicle will automatically raise to maintain ride height below the maximum wading depth.
