Exmoor Trim 2nd row seats
The 2nd row seats in my 110 are the standard 60/40 split affair to which have been added some high back extensions that were made by Exmoor Trim. They're nicely made and match the existing XS trim, but my kids just don't look comfortable, so I'm considering fitting a set of replacement proper high back seats instead.

The total cost of these in the XS trim and including the necessary frames, is nigh-on £1000 and all of the Exmoor Trim dealers seem to quote identical prices on-line. I wondered if anybody had any experience of buying this kit and either knew of anywhere that a deal may be available, or that gave particularly good service? Also, is there anything else I should know about fitting them? There is mention of some drilling required to fit the new frames.

Any advice greatfully received Smile Darren

I did exactly the same as you are planning in my 110 DC. Eldest son was "using" the rear window as a head rest and SWMBO decided this was not a good idea.

You do have to take a deep breath when doing it, ref the drilling, but it is not too bad. You do re-use a couple of the existing brackets to mount the new frames. Just remember to measure twice (or more!) & drill once.

Also, fit the frame for the centre seat first, as the outer 2 hold it down.

I bought the fold forward hi back seats in the outlast trim for the rears, and M& M canvas covers for the front - fantastic.

Now means I can get access to all the previously wasted space behind / under the rear seats.

One thing I did find is that you may have to "persuade" some pieces to come together- the handles for the folding of the backs need a gentle (!!) tap to realign them, or they will be stuck under the frames.

Connecting the seat cushions to the frames is a doddle.

Just make sure you get some rustproofing on the underside after fitting everything - remember you just drilled quite a few holes in your floor....

I got mine from Trakkers who are basically Exmoor direct - VERY good service (wants to be for the price), but in case anything went wrong, wanted to have back up. 2001 TD5 110 DCPU in Bonatti Grey
