Flip image on optimill reverse cam and alpine head unit?
Hopefully this is the final question. Got the camera rigged up, but the image on the screen is mirrored, as in the image on the left of the screen is actually the view from the right of the car. There is no mention of this in the manual or online, any ideas how to flip it?

I assume that will be the case, although I haven’t actually tested the theory yet!

how is yours wired?via reverse switch or permanent and switched off/on at the unit? Do you have the banner at the top saying look with your eyes?

edit i have found this https://manuals.plus/cs/jvc/kd-x561dbt-opt...z7cVRqlEcJ it may help as it talks about reversing image...I haven't got time this weekend to fiddle so i will be watching this thread with interest.

Mine comes on with reverse. Just read in the MUD guide that you cut the two loops of wire hanging out of the camera flying lead. I’ll try that this afternoon and let you know.

Can confirm, I cut the green loop only and it has flipped the image the correct way.

Thumbs Up ive got mine wired with the reverse .but im thinking of changing it to a direct ignition on feed as there are times when in traffic that it would be advantageous to have a view of the rear blind spots without the need to put it into reverse.

Which end is this green loop ?at the camera end or head unit end?

It’s on the camera end.

Co1....showing my age here, but did it feel like you were in an episode of “Danger USB” as you hovered over the green wire with your side cutters just before you eventually cut it Very Happy

The picture is fine but be aware there is a huge blind spot in the image due to its off centre positioning ..it has a 170 degree camera arc.I have mine set so the transition of the yellow to the red tramline is one foot away from the nearside corner and one foot from the middle of the truck on the offside.

hi col by right of by car do you mean drivers /offside?

im not sure whether I'm having a senior moment ..have you installed the optimil number plate camera unit or just the stand alone camera?the reason i ask is that i took a look tonight at my set up (NP unit)and there was no wire loop as described by mud to cut!

https://www.mudstuff.co.uk/collections/opt...rse-camera

i used the mud kit with the light piggy back. There is only one lead from the camera!so im a bit stumped as if you look on the mud website it gives you this picture as an example

unless that's a left hand drive that image is reversed isnt it?(spare wheel to right) or am i in need of a DAT scan.anyway that's how mine looks !any solutions?
