So, it was a productive few hours…
![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge So now for my first few of many stupid questions… With the ignition off, and the ABS unit powered down, am I correct in assuming that all of the valves are open and that the 4 lines/circuits from the master cylinder to each caliper piston are connected? If so, then am I correct in thinking that a conventional bleeding procedure would be sufficient? I note Bluest at al. comments above, and after installation I used my Gunsons Eezibleed to try and get as much air out as possible. The reason I ask is that I can’t understand what the Nanocom power bleed procedure achieves? I wanted to check before I enlist the support of SiCastle and his magic box 👍👍 |

Power bleed is using the internal pump in ABS modulator to push fluid into the brake callipers, instead of using easy bleed or any other way to bleed it. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo

Aha thanks Mad Tom.
![]() I did think that might be the case but wanted to check. When I was using the Eezi Bleed, my thinking was that I was achieving pretty much the same - albeit less efficiently. I haven’t had chance to test the brakes yet but I now can’t see any reason why it won’t be as ‘good as new.’ |

When I tried this I couldn't get any fluid to actually flow from the caliper bleed nipple. Be interested to know if anyone else has had any success. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

Well…
It’s taken me a while for all sorts of unfortunate reasons but I am now amigo free. Better still, I have a new MOT with no advisories. Even better, better still, I have fully functioning brakes. Quite a few sagas along the way to compound matters such as the fluid level switch wiring snapping in an inconspicuous place and the reservoir grommets/bushes leaking but all now ship shape and Bristol fashion. My thanks to forum members for sharing your wisdom and to Sicastle71 for his invaluable help 👍👍👍 |
