I don’t think there is such a thing as a brake light on the dash? Just a park brake (hand brake)?
When my reservoir was low the hand brake light was the indicator.
The only other brake related light is the ABS as far as I know 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

I refer to the one arrowed, which I think is the one that illuminates when the brake fluid is low. But I could be wrong, as been a long time since I could use my old 90.

i had a recent leak on one of the metal brake pipes going to the rear, had the same as you with the flickering light at first but then stayed lit, after checking the handbrake switch the reservoir was the next port of call.

I think the low fluid level in the reservoir illuminates the BRAKE (!) warning light, not the PARK BRAKE.

Exactly the impression I was under

If you loosen the brake reservoir cap and lift the cap just enough that the float is out of the fluid (keeping the cap upright) it should illuminate the brake warning light, whichever that one is Laughing ignition on, of course. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Thanks for all the help. I did some searching for wiring schematics, and it’s interesting as they all seem to vary? I decided to go ahead an order a service manual. Figured be good to have if I am going to try and fix these things. According to one schematic I found… green with white strip is signal indicator?

I’ll have to dig In the dash and try to follow the wire

Referring to this schematic, the warning above the low oil pressure warning says ‘spare’. That would be the PARK BRAKE. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Oh yes the TD5 or I should say pre puma dash has one! There’s not one on the puma……is there? 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

Out of curiosity, I took the brake reservoir cap out on the Puma, keeping the cap upright, and there were no new warning lights on the dash. I only had the ignition on, engine not running. Handbrake was off. I do not have ABS.
Checking the electrical manual, it seems like that on the Puma low fluid level should illuminate the handbrake warning light. The handbrake warning illuminates when the handbrake is on. Need to figure. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
