Cruise control on a MY2000 Defender td5 with a newer ECU
Hi guys,
I’ve already searched but didn’t found the right answer.
So I have a 2000 Defender Td5 with the P10 engine, the previous owner had troubles with the ECU and replaced the ECU with a newer one.

I am aware that it is not that easy to install cruise control with a defender pre MY2002. When reading out the ECU I found these readings. A NNN000120 ECU with a production date 12/2001. So this gave me a little hope that this ECU is capable of just wiring the three wires and a two switches and have a working Cruise Control.

Does anyone know?

Hi my 10p ecu died a while back and I replaced with an NNN.

Fitted cruise control wiring as per all the diagrams online and it works great. Depending on your transfer box ratio you may need a speedo healer if you’re running 1.2.

Having a nanocom is handy to check your switches are correct.

Should work.

You might have to get used to it and think it isn't working at your first try as it is a slow system.
The way I do it is keep pushing the accelerate button till you feel it starts pulling. Roel
