Today I drove to the Col du Parpaillon, North and South side via the Parpaillon Tunnel.
The Defender made the North side without problems. The South side is trickier. But the HDC did very well. I‘m impressed by the bonnet cam.

Very nice, drove there last year, beautiful scenery.
Unfortunately the tunnel was closed ( 14 days) during midweeks for maintenance.
Nice tracks in that area.
Enjoy ! No Mud flaps for my 90.!

It always makes me cringe when I see a car on a beach. The combination of wet sand and salt must play havoc with the underside in so many ways. Sand in all kinds of places that can do harm, such as suspension and steering joints, etc, and major acceleration of rust due to the salt.
Sorry to throw gloom onto some peoples' enjoyment though.
Treating the car with Lanoguard is a good idea IMHO, which I think will help considerably.

@stingray
I welcome your hints and tips.

But I have been driving on this beach with different cars over two decades now.

In my experience driving on beaches does not do more harm to the car as driving on salted and sanded winter roads. Greetings

Trick is to pressure wash the underside of car thoroughly after or regularly in winter. In fact when I buy a (any) used car I wash the underside thoroughly and it's amazing the amount of rot inducing sand and muts comes of an even normally used car. Just not having that lingering makes a but difference in the long run

That is exactly what I do after a day on the beach.
My Multivan is nearly 17 years old now, 350.000km driven, 10x „sanded holidays on the beach“ in DK.
No rust at all. Surely many bearings and joints got rough and were exchanged.
But after all it is in good condition. Greetings

Philipp

Stopped to wash the mud out of the wheels in a burn after a wonderful technical drive in the southern Highlands
