90 V8 Confirmed!
Yesterday I had a call from my sales guy telling me that my 90 V8 has some dates! Specification lock is 6 April (this year!), build completion is 6 May and delivery to dealership is scheduled for 27 May. Obviously these come with the caveat that 'things can change' but at least it's positive news for the moment.

Prior to this, since placing the order in early August, I'd had a couple of 'no news' updates then in December I was told that the build had changed from 22MY to 23MY, that the original price is protected and the specification remains as ordered apart from brake callipers in black rather than blue. So fingers crossed that it will arrive with all its bits intact!

Obviously I'm looking forward to joining the clan especially now that I have some dates.

Well, the dealer said things can change, and they have! Email today tells me the build date has come forward to March 8th! And lock date is tonight! They anticipate new delivery date to them is early April. Obviously I’m hoping this is all reliable and I can start to get excited!

Great news Thumbs Up
I had a similar experience, build date was early March and last week I dropped by the dealership and they told me that dates have moved forward to late February. So I really hope that will be the case. 110 D250 SE Tasman Blue, white roof, black pack, advanced towing pack, rear diff locker, driver assist

Good news for you too. LR production planning must have been very difficult with semiconductor shortage and other issues, Covid, transport holdups etc. Hopefully these issues are easing now and we are seeing the results in our build dates moving forward.

Yes, saw your other post Ace. Great news! Exciting times.

Haven’t heard any more from my dealer although he said he would let me know if it comes forward any more. I’m visiting them next Wednesday so will get the latest then.

Spending my time checking local detailers for PPF options. Thinking about doing the sides as we live in a narrow lane which is often overgrown. It’s not cheap but from reading other posts on here it sounds very effective.

Car has been built! Now waiting for news on transit and delivery to dealership. Was quite surprised at the news given all the uncertainties over component availability etc.

I got the VIN and engine number and put it into My Land Rover which brought up the details below. Should I be worried?

Here’s hoping that if production has picked up there are a few spare body panels available too - now 6 weeks into waiting for a replacement offside rear quarter panel for my car and there are at least two others at the same dealership who have been waiting far longer for doors and front wings for crash damaged Defenders. I have been told late April/ early May is the best guess at a panel pitching up for my car. Only good thing is that it’s not moved an inch in 6 weeks but WBAC’s valuations have been climbing steadily……… Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Great news it's been built but... Whats with that picture?!?! Shocked Confused

Very unusual spec you've had built there! I didn't realise you could have a L663 underneath with classic Defender body! Very nice!! Rolling with laughter James

Yay, it’s just arrived at the dealership! Now getting v excited about seeing it for real…..

I’m getting Classic mud flaps fitted but was slightly surprised to be told this involves drilling. I’d have thought Defenders might have had pre-drilled and threaded fixing points. Does anyone know if the drilling is into metal bodywork, hence setting up potential corrosion sites? Or is it only into plastic body parts?

The drilling is only into the plastic parts of the bumper as far as I know, there is no drilling into any parts of the metal body work Cheers Ian
