Laying up a LR
If I was to mothball a LR for a while (24 months), what is the best way to preserve the tyres?

It's going to live in a barn under a dust cover, but the temperature goes from 40 degrees in the summer to about minus 5 in the winter, the barn will help keep the weather out but the temps will fluctuate.

Is it best to let the some pressure out and just park up or let some pressure out and leave it sitting in axle stands with no ground contact or not bother doing anything?

off the ground leave them pumped up.

change the oils etc and make sure you have either drained the coolant or have enough protection in the coolant to cover the temp range.

disconnect the battery, remove and leave on a trickle charge.

Try and keep the tyres out of direct daylight too. Steve.

fresh oil, tape over the end of the exhaust, don't cover it unless well ventilated,spray silicone onto exposed rubber seals,if not on stands inflate tyres to 60 psi and leave a smear of polish on the paint 2.4 90 XS

Best to keep anti freeze/coolant in rather than drain as most have anti-corrosive properties and could grease the exposed swivels Thumbs Up

damp and mildew.
with quite large temp fluctuations make sure you keep it aired as well BM52

Actually, Defenders for export come with max tire pressure., i.e. 83 lbs. I would leave it on axle stands unless I`m sure somebody will drive it from time to time.

In the old times people poured a bit of castor oil thru spark plug holes and turn the engine a couple of revs to avoid rusting. Puma 110" SW
