Transit Oil Filter
Hi I have cross referenced Genuine Ford Oil Filters,
Seems a Transit Filter will Fit my 2.2 Puma
Genuine filter is half the price of a LR filter.
Anyone used a Transit filter ?
Thanks Ian

Are you talking about the LR030778 that fits in the plastic housing or the later metal canister screw on type fitted to later 2.2 pumas. What’s the ford part number you have as I’m interested to know as well.

Transit one is decent. I don't quite understand Ford part numbers but the box reads:
2 128 722
EN: BK2Q-6714-BA WARNING.
This post may contain sarcasm.

Hi Ian

I think the correct Ford part number should be
BK2Q-6714-AA

This is it straight out of a LR box

BK2Q-6714-BA internals are a little different.

The holes look different but does it matter?
I have a MANN W 7050 for which all of the above part numbers (FOMOCO, FORD, LR) are given as cross reference.

I would also like to know - AA appears to have been superseded by the BA
since the 2.2 is a ford engine and the LR oils filter is a Ford oil filter I would assume the BA is just and improvement on the AA ?
As such I would assume the filter is fine to use in the Defender?

I removed a BA previously fitted by Main Dealer and replaced with AA when carrying out oil change,
So both should be ok afaik
