I agree, but who orders an EcoSport to be stolen? Not to be unkind to my Dad's taste in cars, but it is lacking a certain something in the image department!

I did think it might be a good prospect getting shipped abroad, they are a popular model for Ford in less developed nations, so maybe there is demand for parts or whole cars in countries where law and order might be lacking. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

i recon, your dads car was either stolen for a crime of some sort out the area, or just stolen for parts. to sort out a crash damaged one. Basically ringing. Just a basic car model as a donor shell, and swop the Fancies over and sell it on.
i watched a documentary on it, ( filmed in the mid 90s) and you will be shocked on how little time it takes, to steal a car, have its ID altered with a crash damaged one, swop over everything. Only a matter of hours. Shocked

If you think about it, when my defender was stolen, it was found with its axles missing, was mine just blagged for its axles, to sort out some Disco off road slag? who knows. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

No news, he’s sent all the docs and keys off to the insurance company now, so assuming they are going to write it off and pay out shortly. They’ve been struggling with no car, so the sooner he gets the cash the better. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Think it may have turned up. Not heard from the Police, but this is nearby, right make, model and colour with optional roof bars.

I will just never understand the mindset of thieving Duck s.

Sorry to hear if that is indeed the car.

The comments are pretty brutal but probably justified given the stupid caption... for those that want me to eat those Facebook cookies for you...

I did think the words in the police post were a bit naive to say the least. I don’t think they had deploy Columbo to capture this car once it was set alight.

Wonder why it was taken. Drug dealers run around for a week and then burn it out to dispose of the forensic evidence maybe. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

My first car, an Austin Metro was stolen and used as a get-to car in a robbery. They burned it and I had to pay for cleaning the road, transporting it to a compound, its disposal and for cleaning the wagon used. Because I was young it would have had a drastic impact on my insurance so I coughed up.

I seriously doubt it would have been a local dealer - they just use personal vehicles. Not much point in them doing local drops in a "hot" stolen car. Probably something a little more organised that would only be required for a short period of time like more theft Mad Stuart

Very sorry to hear that they destroyed it, But at least it has turned up so the insurance can put it to bed now. I recon that's been used as a getaway car, But you never know what goes on in their little minds. How far was it from your parents when it was found? Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
