I agree, do love my extra low Thule Wingbar Edge. No notable noise at all. Looking good

Nice one Defendit... I've been considering that exact same cross bar from Thule.

Have you or anyone considered the Thule Wingbar Evo (127) vs. the Edge?
That Evo's profile is not as low as your Edge so I suspect it will be noisier at speed, but it has slightly better load carrying @ 100kg vs 75kg, which I am thinking if I want to stick a roof tent on later on in time.

Yes it is sitting direct on the roofrails, so no podium feet ( set 3040).
Made a new bracket with slightly different positioned holes, so it is up for 10mm.
Endcaps need very little shaving on the outside of the rail to maintain the original looks.

When I was test driving several new defenders, one had the expedition rack on it. Going from one vehicle to the next, the noise was definitely noticeable, as was the increased drag that could be felt after ~50mph.

The extra drag and noise would certainly cause a dip in mpg, as that energy has to come from somewhere. How much?, who knows?...

I had the rack and ladder fitted after 10,000 miles of motorway driving as I need it for work. Yes there is a bit more buffering wind noise above 60mph, but it’s not bad at all. Cross winds make it a bit more noticeable, but the shape of the defender was susceptible to that anyway (it’s not the most aero vehicle) normal stereo volume and you can’t hear it at all. As for mpg, I’m getting about 1 less over a 40 mile journey I do most days, 27 instead of 28. Not bad for a p300, I’ve had 31 mpg when I stuck to 60-65 for one trip.
